Our USA vacation, part two.....

Well aclimated now and ready for some more adventures..... We'we fortunate to be able to meet with our friends Selina and Bill. With our black rented cadilac we drove to Alaxandria some time before we would meet them so we could have a look around. This pituresque town was worthwhile looking around! Or what do you say?

Fun seeing Selina and Bill again, they both bring back fabulous mamories of our time together in Seoul. Especcially Selina with whom I worked when I wrote my book. A great editor she is!

The area where my brother Carlo and his wife Lin are living was definately also worthwile to look around. The houses and nature around them is unbelievable! Have an overview below and enjoy!

Sightseeing in the neighborhood of Carlo's and Lin's residens.  One really wonders what one has done wrong in life, when looking at all of the increadible houses in the area :)

Not only beatiful houses but also beautiful nature andlovely deers everywhere!
In the meantime we have been planing (sort of) our "little" roadtrip, a wish of my husband since many years. And as he mentioned we could drop by Brian Bishop who moved from Seoul to Montgomery, Alabama......
Leaving with a tomtom and good atlas we got on the road! And on the road we were a lot! Maryland - North Carolina - South Carolina - Georgia - Alabama - Georgia - North Carolina - Virgina - Maryland. When we after seven days and 4,200 kilometers (apor. 2,600 miles) returned to Potomac we realized that we just had seen a little corner of this immense country.

Starting with a georguous drive through the Blue Ridge........

Lots and lots of them.

Great gasoline prices!

We had a good laugh after our "shooting" incident.....

Charleston, South Carolina's Pearl, shopping for Ellinor :)

Our kind of place!

No to be missed when visiting Charleston, it's a wonderful way to view the city!

Best navigator!

Seeing the city from the water......

Meeting fabulous people, cheers!

Always time for doing your hair :)

The other side .....

Montgomery!

Time with Brian!

Decissions, decissions........
Biltmore Estate, Asheville, North Carolina. America's largest private owned house at 178,926 sqf (=16,623 sqm) of floor space, making up 250 rooms, 34 bedrooms, 65 fireplaces an underground swimming pool, gymnasium, bowling alley and kitchens. Built by George Washington Vanderbilt II, between 1889 and 1895.

After an amazing roundtour with plenty of fabulous things to look at it was time to hit the road again!

Driving around the estated covering 90,000 acres of land in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. Understandable George Washington Vanderbuilt II chose this spot to built his dream.

Next stop, State Capitol of Virginia, Richemond, to look at the park around The Virginia State Capitol Building from 2003 with it statues, including George Washington and Edgar Allan Poe.

Then it was time to move on, to meet our friends and neighbors from our Korea time, the Johnsson's!

Thanks to Karlton who found us and helped us to get to their new home we could meet! Although too short!

Good old times........

With lots to talk about but also time to

seeing their sons again! Time flies......

After seven days and 2,800 miles (= 4,500 kilometers) later we where back "home" again :)

With great BBQ food and company.

first with Carlo and Lin and the next day with Swedish friends of us, Jörgen and Malin (below)

But that weekend we went for a drive and visited one of Virginias National Parks, with a brake to enjoy the lake on a waterbike-

Fishing was apparently also a possibilty.....

Lin stayed "ashore" for Lucky their dog was not allowed on the waterbike.
Paddle, paddle ....

That same weekend the four of us and Lucky, were invited for dinner at our friends house who moved from Seoul to the Marine Corps Base Quantico in Virginia. The lovely couple Kris and Frank Wendling spoil us both with good foods and drinks but also with warmth, love and laughter. Carlo was the designated driver (again), Thank you bro!

Frank and Kris, who hopefully visit Stockholm in the besinning of next year.

Lovely Kris, who made being together in Seoul so much fun.

Lin, Carlo and a Lucky, waiting for a treat.

And the above my friends, are snapshots from the second part of our fabulous US vacation. Next will be the last part but not the least.

Love Anja
